There’s a new angle on Cartier’s Tank Française, and it’s celebrated through the seventh art. British filmmaker Guy Ritchie directs American actor Rami Malek (Mr Robot, Bohemian Rhapsody, No Time To Die) and French legend Catherine Deneuve (Parapluies de Cherbourg, Indochine, Place Vendôme) as they travel through time from different eras to Pont Alexandre III, which spans the Seine. The fantasy crossing makes the film unique.Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Arnaud Carrez says the film expresses Cartier’s vision of watchmaking and the timelessness of its creations. French style, symbolised by the Tank and Deneuve, meets freedom and creativity linked to Paris, represented by avant-garde cinema and Malek. Since 1917, the Tank “normale” watch has gradually evolved from its straight-line make-up of case, lugs and bracelet in one. Preparations for Watches and Wonders Geneva 2023 are in full swing. I’m delighted to be invited once again to join a privileged group of international journalists to cover the new luxury watch launches. I’ve attended the world’s most prestigious watchmaking event for over a decade. This year is the largest yet, with almost 50 brands exhibiting their micromechanical marvels. Piaget recently revealed the first mechanical perpetual calendar for its iconic Polo collection ahead of Watches and Wonders Geneva, which takes place from 27 March to 2 April exclusively for invited media, retailers, clients, and collectors during the week.  Public entry is permitted over the final weekend.
