With writing as the thread through her more than 20-year career forged in the fields of journalism, public relations, investor relations and publishing, Debbie Hathway enjoys the special lifestyle that comes with being a freelancer.

She now freelances as a managing editor, writer, copy editor and proofreader from her Cape Town, South Africa base. Debbie has contributed to award-winning customer magazines: Private Edition (for The Publishing Partnership), Contact (for the City of Cape Town) and Icon (for Pam Golding Properties), and has applied her copywriting, editing and proofreading skills across the corporate communication spectrum.

She is copy editor for Cape Town's, Joburg's, Durban's and Pretoria’s Child magazines and has worked as copy editor on Femina, Marie Claire and Edgars Club magazines. Debbie is also a specialist dance writer for the Cape Times and bizcommunity.com's Bizlounge entertainment section.
